Grand Bargain, huh? why?

Other than unhinged and chronically mistaken Kari Lake, virtually ZERO 2020 Congressional (or local) candidates questioned the results.

Van…you know very well the Trumpian rantings about fraud are bogus. You also know Trump/his Crew are working to unfairly influence, disrupt, and make a shambles of a heretofore imminently fair voting system.

Really….your bothsidesism, when not warranted needs to be checked. Sometimes one side’s position is bogus.

What if, for example, prior to The Super Bowl, the Patriots claimed they’d been treated unfairly (no evidence to support that claim) in the past when trying to catch passes, and therefore, for them, the out-of-bounds sideline should be extended 3 feet on both sides of the playing field?

Are the Patriots deserving of a Grand Bargain? Nope.

Why? They are operating upon a demonstrably false premise.

Let us all work to have a Free and Fair Election, just like (well, Kennedy-Nixon was dicey) always.

This is an important point. And I’m curious about your opinion on this. Does it seem like a “grand bargain” is giving away more rights to institutions you don’t trust? I’m wondering if these solutions are too downstream. If we take Trump out of the conversation just for a moment, do we trust each other to solve the very real problems we’re facing as individuals and as a country?

I sure hope we get a handle on this quickly so we ALL still have a voice and vote!!

So logical and well-reasoned, and definitely able to be accomplished, IF both sides truly want a democratic society to exist.

Van Jones, you are so wise, fair, and honest. Why don’t you run for president?

The sides have to face off on any matter where there is disparity! It has to happen at some time and some place. Van makes a straight forward proposal. It is a valid starting point. Fail to start going on this soon and the pitchforks will be coming out!

Richard, it is our belief that the other side is wrong; we’ve got facts on our side, etc. However, “they” believe just as strongly (maybe more passionate too) that election was stolen. Point being, how to bridge the divide and not play into a civil war in our country. Do you want to be “right” or work towards understanding each other’s deeply held beliefs. Is there any common interest that can be a starting point? Or do we all just dig in for more bloodshed…..

Thanks for writing Claudia.

I try to dig into facts, reality, not partisan Fantasy.

You do realize Dems lost the Presidency and Congress in ‘24…..yet Dems are cheating!!?!

You do realize Trump/his Crew filed 60+ (all failed) lawsuits claiming fraud/cheating in ‘20, and those suits were all summarily tossed, lacking any merit, (however, honest ATL poll workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss won/collected upon $148 Million judgment vs. Rudy Guiliani resulting from his never-ending known Trumpian lies accusing them of cheating).

Look Claudia, i agree it is sad, but sometimes, (see Trump/Repubs scuttling BIPARTISAN 2024 Immigration Bill that was a positive), people continuously prove themselves to be willfully uninformed, dishonest, and destructive.

So, in order to preserve our Republic, we need to gather as many people as possible in that endeavor; at this point, (see paragraph directly above), there are tens of millions of people in our country unwilling to participate in preserving our Republic.

So, in the words of CSNY, we’ve got to Carry On.
