Thanks Van, I am a follower of all you say. Clean and rational thought.
I am 92, retired prof, and rather than be discouraged by all this, I figure, there was no conspiracy here. This is what the majority wanted. Let them do what they want now. I just hope I will live out these next four years until we have another chance. Keep going.
Van, at some point, the media, politicians, and Americans, will figure out that Trump only has power, because we keep giving it to him! Further, I’d prefer we talk more about Dems plans going forth, than about Republicans, all the time; then, GO TO WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE! You’re one of my favorites, so get out of this funk! This, too, shall pass!
I appreciate you being here. I've just been out of the country for three weeks - landed in Nepal the day the election results came back. I have decided to stay away from mainstream media - even the NYTimes, at least on an everyday basis. Instead I'm going to limit my news intake to you, The NYTimes Daily and Ezra Klein. I'd rather hear thoughtful questions and assessments than headlines. Better for my central nervous system. Thank you again for showing up even if you're not feeling ship shape about everything.
Thank you as usual for the clear thinking and encouragement that you are sharing with us every week. I read a Jack Kornfield writing that said something along the lines of "slow down, rest, listen to each other, listen to the earth, and you will know what to do." How fortunate we are to have so many ways to listen to each other, including your weekly talks.
RFK has said that he would not stop anyone from getting vaccines, but is not promoting them - obviously - based on his own beliefs....so it doesn't sound as if they will be 'banned' so to speak....
I appreciate and will use the quote you gave us today, ‘everybody counts, everybody matters but not everyone knows that’. I have a special needs grandson and I’m worried about the future of the Department of Education and its federal funding. This is a great quote to use as I work on championing my grandson. Thank you
You know - I have been telling my friends not to panic, keep an open mind, pay attention, and if someone or something needs help, then do something about it. And yet, I'm realizing that I've been pushing aside my own heartache. Two and a half weeks later, I finally figure out why I burst into tears at the drop of a hat. I guess we all need to do to process this, and keep our sanity. I do, anyway. We work better when our minds can focus and we won't be too worn down to help. Time to break out my Tony Hillerman and disconnect a bit.
We just need a minute… What the heck is going on? so glad you are going to be commenting throughout this next phase… Van, we need you. We need leaders who we can trust. And you are in a leadership position … a leader of being able to make sense of it all. thank you.

Is there anything the Biden administration can do to put some guardrails in place to protect things like healthcare and fill judicial posts?
