Van, I’m sure you have heard about “Abundance,” co-authored by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson. I want the candidate who can jump on the abundance train and start rebuilding our country, and rehabilitating cities where Democrats have failed. If Wes Moore is that candidate, I’m all in.
Democrats have to prove that they can provide efficient government that is not mired in regulation and bureaucracy. California and New York are too stark examples of the failures of Democratic leaders. Democrats must and can do better but they now have to win back the trust. A tall order which will require courage and bold action!
Hi Van, don’t know whether it’s a coincidence or great minds thinking alike. A couple of days ago, I was telling someone about Wes Moore, sent his wiki, told them of my following him, since he was introduced to America by Oprah, when promoting his book, “The Other Wes Moore.” In addition to all his accolades, he appears to be an unassuming, down-to-earth, great human being. Yes, Democrats are rich with potential presidential candidates for 2028–if we can survive our political Neanderthals, to get to our youthful talents.
I ‘said his name’ when Kamala was looking for a VP during her Presidential run.
The way he handled the bridge collapse in Baltimore was astounding. He was empathetic, immediately putting the attention on the workers who were lost, and their grieving families. What matters most.
Please advise how to get rid of Trump, Musk, Vance, and the rest of the spineless Republicans who enable them. I just got off a meeting of a medical school board of advisors, and the administration is decimating medical research, worse in Red states, but all across the country. The direction the country is going is a rocket out of control that is destined to crash.
Van, excellent recommendation. I like the fact he is governor of a state on the east coast but not New York. Living here in California I think of Maryland as a bit of a hard scrabble state that takes a person of strong will to lead. I know you are a fan of GN but I don't think the country would go for someone from California (perception of too soft) or a woman (sadly we have now been down that road twice with no success). I will be watching. Thanks.
He definitely sounds like the kind of candidate we need. But I have to say, the unspoken subtext reminding us that a woman doesn’t have a shot becoming president in this country and that we have to find a superhero of a man is sad and puts a lot of salt in the wounds of watching two highly competent women candidates lose.
…And Robyn, that is OUR fault! There are entirely too many women out there to have not been successful with Hillary or Kamala. We listen to men degrading women, adopt the behavior, then run to men in the voting booth to rescue us…DUMB! Men kept us outside the voting booth for 144 years, and it’s a struggle to stay inside, but we can’t connect long enough to comprehend the value of our power, in being at the top, to achieve our own goals. The nation would win, as we enfold everybody into the tent and execute accordingly.

Totally agree. Was impressed as hell first time I saw him interviewed about the terrible ship-bridge tragedy.
America deserves Moore! Moore is better!
YASSSSS! I'm manifesting a ticket with some combo of Whitmer, Newsom, Moore, Shapiro...
“America Deserves Moore” - I love it!

Everything I’ve seen of Moore is very impressive. Please include in your list of ‘great emerging leadership on the left’ Pete B. 💖
Though I recognize your list, Van, was just the ‘gubernatorial list’. 🤗
Amen! Yes! Bravo!

“America Needs Moore!” … all the way!

Thank you for the info. Your voice is both calming and strong. Keep talking!
